Inserts:
2 inserts are provided to allow for the correct positioning of the patient
foot. For accurate and repeatable measurements it is critical for the
correct part of the calcaneum to be measured. A small foot therefore needs
to be raised and pushed slightly forward so that the transducers send
the ultrasound signal through the central part of the calcaneum.
30 Second Settling Time:
Contact systems such as the CUBAClinical must ensure that any edema present
around the measurement area is dispersed. A 30 second settling time allows
for this and is sufficient for most patients. (Patients that have a considerable
amount of edema require a longer settling time and this is taken care
of through the software’s measurement protocol).
Electronic Phantom:
The electronic phantom is a high precision active electronic filter that
is calibrated in the laboratory to a value of 38.75 +/- 0.7dB/MHz. It
is then incorporated into the CUBAClinical where it provides for a highly
accurate QA reference source measurement.
This allows for all CUBAClinical systems to be manufactured within close
tolerances and provides the user with an accurate and reliable means of
quality assurance.
The CUBAClinical is the ONLY device with a patented electronic phantom.
